Apparently Peeing In The Opposing Team's Water Cooler Goes Against The Unwritten Rules Of Baseball. And Against US Law As Well

NEW MEXICO -- A member of the Rio Rancho High School junior varsity baseball team who allegedly urinated into the water cooler of the La Cueva High School baseball team is facing 15 counts of battery, the Rio Rancho Police Department announced Friday.

The 16-year-old, who was not named in a news release issued by the police department, is facing the charges in connection to an RRHS home game against La Cueva High School March 25. The charges will be forwarded to Juvenile Probation and Parole, the release said. The police department added that it could not release further details, citing an active investigation involving a minor.

…Though the police department did not provide more information about the case earlier in the week, the player in question admitted to urinating in the jug, La Cueva Principal David Garcia told families in a letter on Monday. Garcia also apologized to La Cueva families for the student’s behavior and urged them to consult a physician if they think their child drank from the jug.

This right here is what happens when you allow a team like the Houston Astros to continuously get away with cheating. First it's teams banging on trash cans to let hitters know when a breaking ball is coming. Then you have guys using torpedo bats left and right. Before you know it, you've totally lost control of the game and now we have high school JV players pissing into opposing team's water jugs.

Jose Altuve. Alex Cora. AJ Hinch. This is all their fault.  Because they went ahead and told an entire generation of young ball players that it's okay to disgrace the game if you're looking to gain a competitive advantage. That it's okay to break the rules if you can get away with it. I mean who knows how many times this little gremlin was pissing in his opponent's water jugs. You'd like to think this was the first, but you never know.

What I will say is that this country vastly under-appreciates those who are willing to coach at the high school JV level. JV sports are the seventh circle of hell. You're mostly dealing with kids who are either 1) not good enough at a sport to play varsity, or 2) don't care enough about the sport to work towards playing at the varsity level. Basically what I'm saying is that you're dealing with animals every day who have been caged up all day at school. Now that they've broken out of the cage, they are running wild and there ain't shit you can do to reel them back in. So I just hope the coach of this team doesn't suffer any consequences because there's nothing he could have done to prevent this from happening.
