This League: Alejandro Tosti Is Now Fighting With All Of Golf After Being Accused Of Intentionally Playing Slow To Get Back At Min Woo Lee On Sunday
We got ourselves a little golf drama, folks! Nothing gets people going like a little pissing match the Houston Open. To set the stage you had the final group and Min Woo Lee with the lead. Ball was under a bush and he spent a ton of time debating whether to hit it, take an unplayable, finally deciding to and then hitting. It was absurd. It does further the argument that we need a shot clock of sort in golf.
Then you had all these reports come out that Alejandro Tosti decided to take matter into his own hands and intentionally play slow:
Decided to get back at Min Woo Lee by allegedly playing slow on purpose. There's nothing worse than a slow round of golf. I don't care what level we're talking about. It sucks. In terms of the PGA Tour it's probably a top-3 complaint behind 1) wanting golf to have one tour and 2) TV coverage. Now, I say all that to bring up that Tosti responded and is now ready to fight all of golf:
Broke out the old, I wasn't playing slow, I had to take a piss. It's the ultimate comeback because how can you argue with someone who needed to go to the bathroom? You can't prove it. Hell, it's not even the first time he got into it at the Houston Open:
I'm all for some golf hardo stuff. I love the sport, but give me a little bit of animosity. Sure, get the slow pace all the way out of here. But Tosti going off at anyone who questions him? Let him embrace the villain role of the sport. Does make Min Woo doing this to win the Tournament even better:
