'If You're Going To Beat Us, You're Going To Have To Kill Us' - Mark Pope Once Again Showed Why He's The Only Coach In The Country Made For Kentucky

I barely slept last night. This is March. But I sat on it, I watched all the highlights, I listened to everything, I streamed. This is the best quote of March. This is why you hire Mark Pope. He understands everything about Kentucky.

He gets it. He gets it more than anyone has ever gotten it. Still not sure what it is, but you know what I'm talking about. The man was forced to put together a roster from scratch, late in the transfer portal game. Now he's lost all 3 options at point guard to injury. He has to adapt and find ways to win in the best conference in America and one of the single most dominant seasons the sport has ever done.

No big deal.

Did it against Duke, Gonzaga, Oklahoma, Florida, Tennessee. Guys injured? Sure, Ansley Almonor you step up and make plays. Otega Oweh you become a superstar. Travis Perry and Trent Noah, why not. This team is different than any Kentucky team we've seen in probably 20 years. No one-and-dones, few NBA prospects, but still elite. Tubby lost that late, Billy Gillispie never had it and Calipari is one-and-done. That's how you end up saying if you're going to beat us, you're going to have to kill us. Can't kill Collin Chandler:

Blood, still no foul. Fine. We'll just find a way to win after Lamont Butler gets hurt and likely out for the rest of the year now too. This win mattered because it locked up a 3 seed in the NCAA Tournament. We also have seen exactly 1 SEC Tournament win over the last 4 years, Pope matched that. Gonna have to kill us.
