Steph Curry Is Now In A Class Of His Own As The Founding Father Of The 4,000 3-Pointers Made Club

It was just 9 days ago that we all witnessed LeBron James make NBA history and become the Founding Father of the 50,000 Points Club. A truly insane number that represents a level of sustained success that shouldn't be humanly possible. There's a strong chance we don't see another player join LeBron in our lifetimes.
That's the beauty of being alive for this era. We're seeing legitimate all time great players do things that have never been done before in NBA history. Sometimes that's LeBron's scoring record, and other times it's Steph Curry making NBA history by becoming the Founding Father of the 4,000 3PM Club
The Greatest Shooter To Ever Live. Period. End of discussion. Not that was really a debate before Steph broke through and crossed the 4,000 3PM line, but it's just another part of his legacy as one of the best players to ever play. Yes, much like LeBron's scoring record you have to factor in era and blah blah blah. Don't be an asshole. Making 4,000 3PM and showing no signs of slowing down is insane. Just look at that list! James Harden, for example, is one of the greatest offensive talents in the history of the NBA. His stepback 3 has defined a generation. Look at that list, he's more than 900 behind!
To put that into perspective, that's 3 Steph Curry seasons. The man has such a Grand Canyon sized gap between himself and #2 on the list, it would take 3 years of production from the greatest shooter to ever live just to close it.
Just like with LeBron when he made his history, we talked about how it's likely he ends around 55,000 points based on his current production. So how high can Steph go?
Let's be conservative and say Steph plays around 60 games a season. Call it the 65 game limit so he could qualify for All NBA. As of now, at his current level and the level you assume he's going to be able to maintain for the next handful of seasons, Steph is making around 4.5 3PM a night. It's reasonable to assume that he'll live somewhere between 280-320 these next few years if you look at how he's been pacing at this stage of his career

As of now, Steph has 2 more guaranteed seasons on his current deal. Given that the Warriors just traded for Jimmy Butler, is it fair to assume they could get 3-4 years of Steph? Maybe through his age 39 season?
On the low, conservative end, I could see around 850 more 3PM in Steph's future after this season. Let's say he adds another 45 over the rest of this season, I think we're looking at Steph easily breaking the 5,000 mark as well. For all we know this new version of Steph could have a couple more monster seasons left in him and getting to 5,000 will be a walk in the park.
In terms of current guys, I can't see anyone in the league right now touching Steph's number. Even in this new era where 3s are more prevalent than ever. You never say never, because at some point in life there will be a LeBron and a Steph, but I'm not sure that person exists yet when it comes to this record.
There's a reason why there's only one Steph Curry. I'm just happy I got to witness it (minus 2022, that was bullshit).
