The Summit League Forbid Omaha From Beating Up The Conference's Trash Cans, Brought Multiple Of Their Own To Celebrate Making The NCAA Tournament
This is by far the best celebration tradition going in college basketball. It all started with assistant coach Kyan Brown, team got hot, became the 1 seed in the Summit League and made an NCAA Tournament. They embraced it, everyone embraced it. We had the chancellor popping out of a trash can, we had bring your own trash can night for popcorn, players getting into it. One of the dumb but awesome things.
However, they had to bring their own to the Summit League Tournament
No problem! D-VON GET THE TRASH CANS
I know this game didn't 'matter' because Omaha was already in the NCAA Tournament. But you don't say that to a mid-major. They want to win the conference tournament. They don't want an asterisk. Plus, with Omaha winning this they can cheer for a couple upsets in the low-major tournaments and get bumped up to a 15 seed. All that matters. It's about winning the conference regular season and conference tournament. That matters to teams like this.
Very few things in this sport is better than a perfect, dumb tradition. Omaha perfected it this year. Get the trash cans ready and I want to see one of these celebrations in the NCAA Tournament. Can't imagine what they break out. They've already had The Outrunners join them. They had elbow drops, spears, belts, baseball bats, spikes, kicks, think you need a Stunner or RKO at some point.
