Feels Like There's A Lot Of Momentum For Khalil Mack To Return To Chicago
So friend of the program, Chris Emma, wrote that piece above and linked Khalil Mack with the Bears the following week. I didn't think much of it. Then Brad Biggs had something similar and it does sort of make sense on a short term deal. The Bears need an edge opposite of Sweat in the worst way. But, you can't go home again. It never works out. Then...the Bears just started posting his highlights out of nowhere for seemingly no reason. Could've started this video with anyone
Is it ideal? No. Mack is 34 years old and saw his sack totals drop from 17 to 6 last year. Is it better than nothing? Absolutely. The day where the Bears need to extend Caleb Williams will be here before you know it. I am not a capologist but these premier defensive ends getting a billion dollars and term beyond three years might be a little scary. Mack isn't any of those things. Sign him and then use one of their three picks in the top 41 of the draft to add depth there and things are really coming together. Offseason champions again, if you had to crown one, which I am not because I refuse to get swindled again. I would be thrilled for the guys who can reach back into their closet and dust off #52 for game days again. Big win for the fans if this happens.
Got me thinking...
If the Bears can bring Mack back, the Hawks can bring Kane.
Also got me thinking about 52 on the Cubs last year.
