March: SIUE Makes Its First Ever NCAA Tournament, Head Coach Busts Out Scissors He Had Framed 6 Years Ago To Cut Down The Nets
Ever since FDU made the First Four, won that game and then beat Purdue in the 1/16 game, we can't say any of these teams are just dead on arrival. I don't care if SIUE is going to make the First Four and people won't think twice about them. This is why March is the best, as cliche and as much as we say that. SIUE never made the NCAA Tournament, until now that is. Hell, they never had a winning record in Division I until last season.
So enters Brian Barone. He took over 6 years ago and went the Ted Lasso route. Dude framed some scissors, put them in the locker room and had them ready to bust out tonight. This is why mid-major conference tournaments are elite. This is their March moment. As much as we love the Big East and those big names, there's something about two teams playing for their entire March life on the court. That's what the OVC gave us tonight. Not to mention Ray'Sean Taylor is legit. Dude can score with anyone in the country and is good enough to put a scare in a team. Plus, I love a good bit. Barone isn't letting go of those framed scissors at any moment
So shout out SIUE and welcome to the dance. 1 down, 67 to go.
