Brady Tkachuk Is Straight Up Not Having A Good Time In Ottawa After His Best Friend, Josh Norris, Was Traded
The Ottawa Senators are trying to hold onto a playoff spot here in the final 15 games of the regular season. They currently have the 2nd and final wild card spot in the East, with a few teams right on their ass. So to make their team a little stronger up the middle, they went out and made a trade with Buffalo for Dylan Cozens earlier today.
Personally, I always thought the idea of Dylan Cozens has been better than the actual production out of Dylan Cozens. I think having the nickname "The Workhorse from Whitehorse" has done a tremendous amount of leg work for Dylan Cozens' career so far in the NHL. Don't get me wrong, I understand the potential is there to be a great throwback big boy down the middle of the ice. He has great size, plays the game with an edge, can produce offensively. He's the perfect prototype for a playoff hockey player. I just think he has suffered from playing in Buffalo, and never got a chance to fully live up to the potential there.
But that's besides the point. Because going the other way to Buffalo were Josh Norris and Jacob Bernard-Docker. And the loss of Josh Norris clearly hit Brady Tkachuk like a clapper to the nuts.
It sure as shit seems like the Ottawa Senators have been doing everything in their power lately to make Brady Tkachuk hate being there. You've got the fans booing the American National Anthem before every home game.
You've got the "Ottawa Citizen", whatever the fuck that publication is, questioning on whether or not Brady should even be allowed to wear the 'C' for the Senators.
And now you trade away the guy's best friend. You bring him to the point of tears in the locker room while talking with the media. Brady Tkachuk is straight up not having a good time right now, and you couldn't blame the guy if he started begging for an American organization to come by to rescue him.
He still has 3 years left on his deal at $8.2M AAV. So it won't be an easy rescue mission, that's for sure. But somebody has to be willing to get Brady Tkachuk out of Ottawa, because I don't know how much longer the poor guy can take it.
