Dana White Is Finally Launching A Boxing League With Saudi Arabian Advisor Turki Alalshikh

After years and years of teasing his entry to the boxing business, UFC President Dana White finally made things official today with Saudi Arabian Advisor to the Royal Court Turki Alalshikh - and they're already teasing their first big event in September! Well - Turki is teasing it while Dana White is pumping the breaks on him a little....

....and Ariel Helwani thinks that may even involve Canelo Alvarez/Terrance Crawford!

Dana swears he wants to bring boxing back to the glory days, being he's taken umbrage with the current boxing industry for years; he hates the idea that a fighter has to be undefeated for anyone to care about them. In boxing, nowadays, that usually seems to ring true (with a few obvious exceptions) and Dana just wants to put on great fights….which seems to be how he runs the UFC too. He'd rather a Michael Chandler (2-4 in awesome fights) than a Muhammad Mokaev (7-0 in boring fights) any day of the week.

I could be wrong, but I think that means we won't see as many ridiculous -2600 style lines for these fights in the squared circle, and that really intrigues me. Hell, even the idea of putting together a UFC style boxing card - where people give a shit about the prelims - sounds awesome! Large better stay the hell away from my guy Dana, tho - or else we'll have a catchweight bout to add to that September card. He's mine.
