Matt Rhule Caught His Players Doing TikToks In The Facility, So He Had The Freshmen Dance Between Wall Sits In A "TikTok Workout"
So the way this story goes is that Matt Rhule's 9 year old daughter got asked to do a TikTok with Nebraska's All American volleyball player. And while Rhule is very anti TikTok, how could he say no to that? So what he did was allowed his daughter to do it, but then he got on TikTok to watch it. And what did he find? That all of his fucking players make TikToks. He mentions seeing like 35 players, including one who was doing it in the facility, which is against team rules.
Well fast forward to this past week where Rhule had the strength coach give the freshmen a nice little "TikTok Workout". Pushing weights with their bios taped on it, dancing in between wall sits, the perfect "you better not fucking do this again". Here's the clip of Coach Rhule explaining it on the Pat McAfee Show:
To be clear, I love every single thing about this. Seems like the perfect combination of accepting the new school, but still being old school. My official stance on Matt Rhule here:
But call me soft, call me a lib, call me whatever….is this not the kind of story that blows up in 2025 as hazing? Don't get me wrong, I LOVE IT. I fucking love saying you're cool with the players using social media and all that with today's world of NIL and the transfer portal, but when they break the team rules of how to use it, you shove it down their throat while they push weights with their TikTok bios on them. Make everyone do wall sits while someone dances like teenage girls do when they have substitute teachers in their 8th grade math class. It's perfect. But I can just see it now. A freshman doesn't get the playing time he wanted this year and then boom, he leaves the school because he was hazed while having to dance during a punishment workout.
