I'm Really Mad I Missed Shane Gillis Hosting Saturday Night Live, Because By All Accounts, It Looks Like He Flat Out Crushed It
By now everybody knows the story.
Shane Gillis used to be a writer for Saturday Night Live, then he got a shot at actually performing on the show. But then he got fired for making jokes people found offensive.
Fast forward a few years, and thanks to Barstool Sports, and a podcast of his own, he's selling out arenas all over the country. To the point that Lorne Michaels fell on his sword and invited him back to host the show!
And not to be outdone, he was lucky enough to be accompanied by the hottest name in pop music right now, Canada's finest export since hockey, and this generations Britney Spears, the one and only Tate McRae.
And by all accounts, she crushed both of her song performances -
Oh yah, Mike Myers showed up to to make it a "Canadian celebration" or some shit-
Enough about Shane though for a minute. Let's give a little bit of the spotlight to the musical guest night, Tate McRae.
Mamma mia.

So once again, amazing work to friend of the program Shane Gillis on a triumphant return to SNL.
p.s. - as much as I wanted to end this blog without including any Gillis stuff from the show at all, I'd be an asshole to do so because he really did smash.
(Sidebar- only Saturday Night Live could get in their own way and NOT use Gillis to play Trump in this Zelensky Oval Office skit that opened the show, when he was literally in the building hosting. Sad.)
This was the best skit of the night -
