March Is Coming: Nimari Burnett Saves Michigan And Buries Rutgers With A Dagger Three At The Buzzer

Another night, another buzzer beater. Unlike the Maryland/Michigan State game, we have a good decision here. Quick reminder of what happened yesterday:

Obviously way less time, coming from a sideout, but look what Michigan did. They took a dribble into the arc and kicked it to a wide open look. Imagine what they could have gotten with 5 seconds to go. I can't stress enough how bad of a shot that was from Gillespie last night. Break for Michigan State? Absolutely, but they got the break because of the awful shot choice. Michigan gets it to their best play maker in Danny Wolf, he does just that. Defense collapses, kick, bang.

Now what does this shot mean? Michigan is still alive in the Big 10 title race and Rutgers stays on the bubble to make the conference tournament. That's right, folks. Thanks to conference expansion the Big 10 isn't sending all their teams to the conference tournament. Bottom 3 teams don't make the trip. Rutgers is 7-11 with 2 games left, 1 game up on Northwestern, USC, Iowa and Minnesota. They should make it, but there's a sweat at least. End with Purdue and Minnesota, so really just gotta beat Minnesota and you should be in. Michigan though. Man, they just find a way. Their last 9 wins have been by less than 5 points. Every single game is just down to the buzzer.

March is coming. Back-to-back nights to get everyone ready for the mayhem.
