Spike Lee Is A Basketball Sicko Like The Rest Of Us … Attended Wagner At LIU Brooklyn Tonight

I often get texts like why are you watching that? Or when my wife asks why I have to go to the CUNY final to see John Jay’s first appearance since I started doing the clock 8 years ago, I reply “I just do.” Basketball is my only hobby. Heard a good quote today from Jay Bills about Bill Raftery where he says “Raf loves the game of basketball but he also loves the people in it.” I think that’s me. There’s another famous quote “the game  of basketball has given me a ton of friends.” I find that true too. Always find guys I played with growing up or bond over watching games with as adults hold a stronger friendship than anyone else. If you love ball, we can be friends. Just how I am. 

Spike Lee is clearly like that too because let me tell you. Going to an NEC game in person is only for true ball lovers. You gotta be dedicated to watch that league in and out. And that no shot at all my people grinding it out in the NEC, and playing at the Division 1 level should never be taken lightly but they have been the lowest rated conference since Moses wore short pants. Spike is a different animal if he’s taking in a game like this when he could be at Carbone or sitting in his rich house or doing anything else but he loves ball so I have no choice but to respect him. Now I feel like I want to see how crazy he’ll get with his level of dedication. Can we get him me and Eddie Barstool out to the 2026 Staten Island HS League Semifinals and a pie at Denino’s after? Will he watch Stepinac HS try to three peat in the CHSAA? Will he go to Susan Wagner vs Lincoln? How sick of a basketball sicko is he willing to be? All rediculous asks but again the man is watching NEC basketball in person on a Thursday night so anything is possible folks. Open invite for the CUNY finals still stands Spike. Slice on me post game.
