Hookah Doncic: The Mavericks Smear Campaign Against Luka Continues, Predicting His Drinking And Smoking Habits Will Lead To a "Catastrophe" In The Next Five Years

We're a day removed from the first meeting between Luka and the Mavericks since the most shocking trade in NBA history went down. Doncic did his thing and posted a triple double, putting up a stat line no Laker has achieved since Kareem. His shooting still isn't exactly there, but he's obviously plenty great enough to contribute in a variety of other winning ways. The Lakers are in a really good spot, trending up, while the Mavericks are severely depleted, missing a bevy of players including the centerpiece of the big trade in Anthony Davis. That's prompted the Mavericks to continue leaking bad shit about Luka out there to try and help justify trading away one of the best players in the league before he even enters his prime. Whatever helps ya sleep better at night, Nico. 

Today's news further leans on his beer drinking and hookah smoking habits being a detriment to his future. The horror!

They go as far to predict his basketball demise and a full-on catastrophe on the horizon.  

(Athletic) Make no mistake, the people who witnessed Dončić’s last days in Dallas do not paint a flattering portrait of the 25-year-old’s professionalism. They call him lazy. They talk about the weight issues that were such a frequent frustration within their walls. They mention the social habits that The Athletic has reported on — such as a taste for beer and hookah — which have been a point of concern for NBA types since he was a 19-year-old star for Real Madrid who was entering the NBA Draft. They predict his basketball demise, highlighting a health history that, as some see it, will likely lead to catastrophe in the next five years or so.

I guess if you're Nico you have to do this to try and reason with the public when quite literally everyone is calling you an idiot. At this point I'm expecting the Mavs to hire some type of service that continues to negatively influence Luka into destroying his body and work ethic. Show him clips of last night's Barstool After Dark and convince him it'd be a good idea to try that out and put his body to the test. 

But as Russillo said on his pod, even if Luka was smoking cigarettes while bringing the ball up the court he'd give him the extension. What is he doing on the court that makes you not want to pay him? Dude carried the team to the Finals LAST YEAR. Sure his health habits probably could be better, but it's not like he was missing games like Zion. I'll never ever understand this trade unless somehow Dallas is right and he falls off a cliff physically. 

Only problem with all of this continuous avalanche of slander? It's only motivating Luka to turn it all around and become the best version of himself. 

Motherfucker is gonna look like he's on Ozempic pretty soon just to prove a point and shove it in Nico's face. Every single word is being used as fuel to make sure Nico Harrison lives in infamy as the guy who traded away one of the best basketball players of his generation. With no dog in the fight I'm very much here for all of it. Plus objectively speaking, it's always good for the NBA's popularity when the Lakers are good. Somehow some way we need a Warriors-Lakers Round 2 matchup to entertain us all. Get to work script writers.
