This Might Be Rock Bottom For The Philadelphia 76ers, Until They Still Find A Way To Go Even Lower

The Process era Sixers were truly some of the worst basketball teams to ever take the floor in NBA history. We're talking about a team that only won 10 games in an entire season. But at least there was some reason to be optimistic about the future, because there was the idea of a plan in place.

The Sixers drafted back-to-back busts with 1st overall picks in 2 years. They had a general manager, who wore very normal collars, resign after operating a bunch of burner Twitter accounts to shit on Sixers players, other executives, and members of the coaching staff. So many mysterious injuries. So many disgusting playoff collapses. Every single time you think the Philadelphia 76ers can't find a way to sink any lower, they defy all the odds and do the unthinkable.

But I truly believe this is as rock bottom as rock bottom could ever get.

Down by 50 at home to a 23-35 Chicago Bulls team, in a game where both Paul George and Tyrese Maxey were in the lineup. It's not like they didn't have any of their guys available last night. Two out of their "big 3" were in the lineup, and you're losing by 50 at home to a Bulls team that might not even be a playoff team.

The Process era teams were awful, but they were designed to be awful. That was the whole point. They were strategically terrible. The Sixers aren't trying to tank right now. They're doing a damn good job at accidentally tanking at the moment, but this isn't a team going into games with the expectation of losing.

It would be one thing if this team was actually trying to lose. At least then you'd be able to say that they are accomplishing their goal. They're not trying to lose, but they sure as shit aren't trying to win. They have just given up. Which is the most sickening thing you could ever see out of a professional sports team. The coach, the general manager, the players, the owner. There's not a single person associated with the Philadelphia 76ers organization right now who gives a single shit about this team. So it really doesn't even matter what happens with the rest of this season. Let's say even the unthinkable happens, and the Sixers end up winning the lottery to get the 1st overall pick. If this is the organization that he's coming into, then you can be damn sure that Cooper Flagg will be out of basketball by 2031. You can say there's nowhere to go but up from here, but even that seems like a stretch.
