Hero Panera Employee Refuses Service To Woman Whose Kid Won't Stop Screaming While Trying To Order
Call me crazy, but I have always been team "get your kid under control." I know I don't have kids, I know it's hard to be a parent..but I simply do not care. That's what you signed up for (most of the time), so figure it the fuck out. No one feels bad for you. If your kid is screaming in public, make them stop. Yell at them, threaten them, give them a goddamn iPad if you have to - just do something. Make an effort to correct the behavior. Nip it the bud otherwise your child will end up like the 2015 UConn mac and cheese bro - an entitled little asshole with no concept of how to behave in public. Maybe I'm blowing this particular situation out of proportion (I am), but I feel like we need to stop giving parents a free pass all the time. Consequences have actions and your little rugrat is an extension of you. So get him under control or head on over to Five Guys where they don't give a fuck.
HAVING SAID THAT, the kid was probably screaming because they were hungry...so maybe just take the order? Put an end to your suffering? Why drag out the awful interaction? If you really want to teach the mom a lesson give her the wrong order when she pulls up. "Oh your three year old wanted mac and cheese? Enjoy the Bacon Turkey Bravo!" Also, I had no idea Panera had drive thrus. Seems like a nightmare. Oh well. Chances are mom got the message loud and clear. I guarantee next time she's ordering at Panera you'll be able to hear a pin drop in that car.
