The White House Better Let The Eagles Practice In The Rose Garden If They're Going To Visit

Have you guys seen this? Have you heard about this? First it was reported that the Philadelphia Eagles declined an invite to be honored at the White House this offseason.

But then it was reported later that the team would be honored to visit the White House, but were still waiting on an official invitation.

Seems like it would be pretty difficult to reject an invite that was never sent in the first place, no? Unless it was one of those preemptive declines like when you try to get out of plans by saying you have a dentist appointment that day, but you accidentally say that before you were even told what day the event was on.

Regardless, if there's one thing we've found out about the Philadelphia Eagles over the past couple of weeks, it's that they absolutely hate all the pomp and circumstance that comes along with winning a Super Bowl. You had Vic Fangio already making the defense break down film from the Super Bowl before the parade.

We had AJ Brown saying the excitement of winning a championship only lasted for 2 days before he was ready to get back to work.

And Jalen Hurts couldn't even crack a smile riding the Tron roller coaster at Disney the day after being named Super Bowl MVP.

The fact of the matter here is that these guys aren't interested in being celebrated. They don't want to sit around and listen to everyone tell them about how great they are. They are singularly focused on winning as many championships as they possibly can. So they don't have time to enjoy just winning the first.

So if the Eagles were ever going to decline an invitation to the White House, it's only because it would be eating into their practice schedule. The Eagles are already behind the 8-ball this offseason considering they have a shorter offseason than 30 other teams in the league. If they're going to take a trip down to Washington to be honored at the White House, they still need to make sure they put in some work that day. Because success is leased, and rent is due every day.

If the White House wants the Eagles to come down for a visit, then they need to find some space on the property for the Eagles to practice. Give them a quick hour and a half in the rose garden, and now we're talking. It has nothing to do with politics. It has everything to do with the Eagles being a bunch of sick bastards who won't allow themselves to ever get complacent.
