UFC Seattle Is 7/7 On Finishes So Far (Including An INSANE Flatlining-Knockout From Ricky Simon)

We're seven fights into the UFC Seattle prelims, and we have yet to see a third round. Five KO/TKOs and two submissions have kicked this card off, and it's been fucking awesome. I mean, look at the above knockout for example. Ricky Simon put Javid Basharat's brain on a rocketship to space with that punch, and when he came back down to earth (aka the canvas) he basically tried to drive his head through the octagon with ground and pound. It was a Dan Henderson/Jorge Masvidal style INSANE follow up shot that was completely unnecessary, and I can't condone it - but that's the kind of action we've been watching thus far. Here's the other finishes....

You may not recognize the name of one of the winners on that list, Austin Vanderford - that is Paige VanZant's husband who spent years in Bellator. He had a successful UFC debut tonight and his opponent actually only tried to fight back after the fight....

How embarrassing. Oh, and we've got Ion Cutelaba vs Ibo Aslan on deck, which is -350 to not go the distance on DraftKings - so 7/7 on finishes going into the main card is looking VERY likely. Tremendous.

UPDATE: It only took 3 minutes. We're 7/7. Clean sweep on the prelims.

P.S. While the Apex was an AMAZING, business-changing venue to keep the sport alive during COVID alive, I feel like these recent live fight nights are proof that the sold out crowds heighten the action and energy in the cage - it's like old school Gladiator type shit. I love that we're starting to get more and more of these. It's either that or the old gloves….
