THE GENERATIONAL JUAN SOTO JUST HOMERED IN HIS FIRST AT BAT AS A MET!!!!!!!!

You know what? I'm just gonna come out and say it. I think Juan Soto is good. I don't care that this home run came in Spring Training with a split squad against a pitcher wearing an offensive lineman number. Juan Soto knew that this was his first at bat as a Met and knew he had to deliver even if only the sickest of sickos watch Spring Training games when they can actually be found on TV.

So what did he do? Mash a massive home run just like he did while carrying the Yankees to the World Series last year, just like he did while raking with the Padres, and just like he did while putting up Hall of Fame numbers in the playoffs as a 20-year-old on his way to taking the Nats to a World Series championship. Again, I heard all the criticisms about how much money Steve Cohen spent on Soto, even if it is ashtray money to Cohen. I heard all the criticisms about how Soto's contract will look in a decade, even though his skill set should age pretty damn gracefully. I even heard all the criticisms about Soto's defense like there isn't a universal DH and plenty of ways to hide aging defenders on the diamond.

Despite all that, I still think Juan Soto is good and having him on your team is fun as fuck. Can't wait to see what else he has in store for us the rest of today, this season, and the next 15 years.
