Luckily for Jake Paul, Canelo Will NOT Be Fighting Jake Paul In May

I wrote a blog nobody read yesterday about the RUMORED matchup between future Hall of Famer Canelo Alvarez and former Disney kid Jake Paul.
I told you that nothing was set in stone about their potential one-sided matchup in May, and less than 12 hours later, we got the news that it was NOT happening.
Instead, this IS what’s happening with one of the greatest super-middleweights ever… Much of these details were ripped from ESPN's Mike Coppinger.
1. Last night, while the rest of the world was sleeping, Canelo signed an INSANELY LUCRATIVE deal to fight 4 times for the man who is single-handedly saving boxing- Turki Alalshikh.
For people who think Turki Alalshikh is a popular casserole from the 1970s, here’s a picture of the man I am referring to…

And here’s a small video showing Turki relaxing at home…
2. Out of those 4 fights I mentioned above, only one is currently scheduled to be fought in the US, and that is the previously canceled Canelo versus Terence Crawford in September… I'll believe that fight is happening when I see them entering the ring as Turki has also alluded to a Crawford versus Boots Ennis matchup if the Canelo fight doesn't materialize.

Crawford is a generational talent who thinks his fight with Canelo will solidify his legacy as one of the all-time greats, whereas I feel it will cement his legacy as yet another guy to get beat up by Canelo.
3. I mentioned in the last blog that Canelo typically fights twice a year, and his tune-up match in May will now probably be against either a tragically inactive Jermall Charlo (33-0) or a French guy you never heard of named Bruno Surace (26-0) who upset Jaime Munguia in December, and that bout will take place in Riyadh.
4. His third fight under Turki… as of right now… will be a rematch versus Dmitry Bivol (Canelo lost their first fight in May of '22) OR a fight with either Hamzah Sheeraz (21-0) or Chris Eubank Jr (34-3).
5. His final fight in this 4 fight deal will also be in Saudi and can literally be against anyone, at this point… There are too many factors to weigh between now and then.
Maybe this sheep-bullying dog will come into play by then…
So what did we learn?… Let's do more bullets…
- People who were yearning to watch Jake Paul get an old-fashioned ass whoopin’ from a man still in his 30s will have to wait a little longer.
- Fans of Bud Crawford will have 7 months to come up with excuses as to why their guy lost.
- And the rest of the boxing world can complain about Canelo not fighting David Benavidez.
I’ll let you know when that changes… In other words, talk to you tomorrow.
Last thing… As social media (and my last 2 blogs) seem to be obsessed with cards that MAY happen in the next couple of years, let me remind everyone that ONE OF THE GREATEST CARDS OF ALL TIME is going down later this month when undisputed light heavyweight champ Artur Beterbiev gives Bivol his rematch… I'll embed a graphic of the full card and let you know that almost every fight could be a main event under other circumstances.

Now THAT'S a card worth talking about.
