Ryan Day Is Already Posting A Countdown Until Texas Comes To Columbus Next Fall

Oh no, @everyone. Ryan Day has developed a little Urban Meyer in him, hasn't he? The man just won a National Championship no less than 2 weeks ago, and he's already taking to Instagram (which he never does) to let the world know that it's only 210 days until Texas comes into The Shoe for:

1.) The most anticipated regular season non-conference matchup.....ever?

2.) What will be #1 vs. #2 in the country

3.) Arch Manning's debut as QB1 for Texas

4.) a rematch of the Cotton Bowl

5.) the beginning of Ohio State's title defense

Now I will admit that I have been a little fearful of this looming matchup due to the age old saying that "Fat Pigs Get Slaughtered". Our boys are working out all offseason as champions. Texas is working out all offseason not just as losers, but losers with the ability to go into Columbus and knock off the team that knocked them out. I saw some lookahead lines have the Buckeyes favored by more than a field goal in this matchup and while I will only place my wager when it appears on the DraftKings Sportsbook, I would think it should be much lower than that? Ohio State loses the majority of both sides of the football, and Texas...doesn't? But what I guess I forgot to factor in is that the Buckeyes do return the best offensive player in the country (Jeremiah Smith), the best defensive player in the country (Caleb Downs), and not only the best coach in the country, but apparently the hungriest one too?

I will say, I love this newly energized Ryan Day. He's dragging his nuts on everyone with this victory tour he's taking, but it appears in his recruiting trail and Instagram stories that he's hungrier than ever. I LOVE that when asked about his future possibly taking him to the NFL, he responded that he wants to be the first Ohio State coach since the great Woody Hayes to become a 2x National Champion. Urban never did it. Tressel never did it. But Ryan Day is locked the fuck in on doing it.

210 days, Texas. I can't fucking wait.
