The Commanders Lost The NFC Championship Game But Say It With Me...The Future Is Bright In Washington
Look, let's just say it- that was a whoopin'. I could sit here and say if such and such didn't happen it "would have been closer" but there's no sense in that, you play the game and the score is the score and Eagles dropped a 50 burger and won by 32, is what it is.
That being said though, the game itself had enough self-inflicted mistakes to fill a notebook. And those mistakes start with the fumbles. The god damn fumbles. Dyanmi Brown, McNichols on the kickoff, and then Ekeler. 3 bad fumbles, all which led to Eagles scores. Hard to win that way! And it extra sucks because this team did not turn the ball over the entire season. Just an absolute anomaly, but credit to the Eagles, they took full advantage of the mistakes.
Jayden, man. Not enough good things can be said about him. He makes perfect throw after perfect throw after perfect throw. He did everything he could, but the rest of the team simply wasn't good enough, and the Eagles are stacked. I mean it's ok to say that- the Eagles roster is fucking GREAT. And I fully believe that's what we're building towards.
Let's get into that- this is year 1 of the rebuild, or as Coach Quinn calls it, a "recalibration". This team was not supposed to be here. The OLine is not very good, the EDGE needs work, and of course the two big weaknesses- WRs and secondary. What Jayden was able to accomplish having only 1 WR in Terry all season is nothing short of a miracle. And of course the secondary is bare bones. I mean honestly, a lot of the defense is average at best, but they fought their dicks off all season so respect to them...but we need some guys. We just need some better guys.
We can all say it- "The future is bright in Washington". I fully believe we'll be back, and better, in the years to come. This should be the worst roster Jayden has around him. Don't forget how much Ron Rivera's drafts set this team back with guys like Jamin Davis and Emmanuel Forbes. So yeah, we have some building to do, but fuck, we just made the NFC god damn Championship game in year 1!
Suffice to say, losing sucks but this team isn't quite there yet. I'm excited for what is to come. HTTC.
