Jack Sawyer Put The Entire State Of Ohio On His Back And We're Heading To The NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP!

Apologies on not getting a blog up right after the game. That's on me, as I went right to the podium and just held a 2 hour postgame press conference on Twitter (unofficially sponsored by Coors Light). I gotta be better than that. But also, you know who else needs to be better than that? Quinn Ewers and Texas. When you have a 1st and Goal with the opportunity to tie up the ball game against the prohibitve favorites, you gotta punch it in. What you CANT do is let it get to 4th down and then let one of the all-time great plays in Ohio State football history occur, when Jack Sawyer took the ball 83 yards through the heart of Texas.

My reaction:

I'm pretty sure I blacked out. Hasn't happened since....2015 National Championship? But that was over alcohol. This was over pure joy. And I'll say this: was it easy? No. Credit to Texas' defense as they really kept us in check following the first two drives of the game in which we scored an easy touchdown (and dropped two more) and then were driving until TreVeyon got an upsportsmanlike penalty that killed a drive. From there, it was anyones game. But did we win in the end? Yep. And our reward is that we have 10 days to prepare for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in the NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP.

You want my thoughts? Yeah, we're going to win. By a lot. We're substantially better than this team. And our path of Tennessee, Oregon on the West Coast, Texas in Dallas, and then Notre Dame will be the toughest road of any champion in the history of the sport. As for the Michigan loss? Yeah, stay tuned for my thoughts on that one. I heard Davey Portnoy is coming to Chicago to stream the National Championship. Should make for some fireworks....
