The Jets Hiring Ron Rivera Would Be So God Damn Funny I Am PRAYING It Happens
This is so funny...like, historically funny. Even if they only interviewed him because he fulfills the Rooney Rule, it is still a slap in the face to quite literally everyone else who fulfills the Rooney Rule. Like, Ron Rivera is not a suitable candidate to be a head coach ANYWHERE. Not the NFL, not college, not Oakland Mills High School, not anywhere. The game has passed him by. The last 4 years watching him coach the Commanders was pure torture. He doesn't understand simple clock management, how to evaluate talent, how to correctly challenge plays, how to form a competent coaching staff around him, how the standings and playoffs work, nothing. During games he would stand on the sidelines with his arms crossed not saying a word for 95% of the game. All in all, he was the worst head coach in the league last year and I'm not even sure it was close. And for those reasons, I am BEGGING the Jets to hire him. BEGGING.
Nothing would be funnier than the Jets being so bad, so out of touch, and such losers that they think Ron Rivera should be their head coach. It would be so perfectly Jets. And I'm not even a Jets hater. No, I think I'm like most football fans and just love watching the Jets fuck up year after year. They do it in such dramatic ways, and in ways you could never dream up on your own. Bringing in Ron to coach would be like the Wall Street Journal bringing in me to edit. Yes, that bad.
I'm doing my tiny part to encourage the Jets to make the move:
If he was actually in the interview pining for the position, I guarantee he said some shit like that. In reality he was the worst drafter I've ever seen and set this team back YEARS, only for Jayden to come in and bail us all out by being so fucking good at quarterback it has helped make up for 90% of Rivera's picks already being gone.
So hopefully the Jets really Jet it up and make this call. Nothing would be better for the rest of the league than to watch this happen. And if not the Jets...how about da Bears?!
