"I’ve Never Seen a Group Waste Opportunities/Talent/Money More Than This Group", The Colts Have Officially Lost Pat McAfee, Time to Fire Everyone

I’ve said what I believed to be the truth about the team.. & a bunch of “Colts fans” on the internet were trying to get me booed out of the city..

Current players, who have won nothing during their entire tenures, started using me and my face to try and paint me as the enemy in the city I’ve committed my life to.

And in the end… everything went.. just like I fucking said it would

In the biggest moments everybody with a brain knew they’d crack.. and they did.

A blind person could see the red flags on this team.. Work ethic questions, NEVER happens on good teams.. Preparation commitment questions, NEVER happens on good teams.. Late to meetings, NEVER happens on good teams.. Late to/skipping treatment, NEVER happens on good teams.. The franchise QB tapped out of a game.. on 3rd down.. in the red zone.. because he was tired… NEVER HAPPENED in the history of the NFL.

That’s literally the only thing you need to tell someone (who knows ball) and they could tell you everything about this team…

“Hey the franchise quarterback, who’s a professional athlete getting paid millions of dollars, and the face of a multi billion dollar franchise tapped out of the game because… because… because he was tired in the middle of the season”

“Oh wow.. that team has no chance” would be the immediate response..

And to the surprise of nobody.. that was the response by everybody who’s ever played/coached the game before but.. Colts blogs and fans who have been covering the Colts since 2020 and more recent knew better than everybody… Started personally attacking me and trying to kick me out of town.

When I said Joe Flacco gives us a better chance to win than AR immediately after the tap out.. I would’ve said whatever backup QB we had on the roster. That can’t be what the face of your team is doing.. just can’t be.. and to a bigger aspect of it all, somehow AR thought it was ok to do that. That’s a locker room issue.. that’s a culture issue.. thats an indicator of a loser attitude radiating thru a building that was built by greats.

I have no idea how they fix it.. I don’t think it’s like a light switch. “Alright, we’re gonna become Pros now” but… maybe it is, but what do I know?

Oh wait….. how this was all gonna work out. I knew that.

As a multiple year season ticket holder (not renewing).. and someone who has actively, daily, attempted to be an additive to this beautiful city. I hope they become a good franchise again.. this city deserves it.. the OGs in the Colts building deserve it (equipment managers, trainers, ticketing, PR, sales).. and on the flip side the players/coaches in that building deserve whatever happens to them. Your unwarranted arrogance, laziness, and lack of professionalism has lead you to ANOTHER early vacation… which is probably what most of you entitled bums have been hoping for.

I don’t speak for the city.. and I don’t speak for all ex Colts players because I was only a punter.. nominated for the HOF 3 times now but nonetheless.. I speak from my own perspective.. I’ve never seen a group waste opportunities/talent/money more than this group.

Cheers… #ForTheShoe #LahdHahse

Compared to most Colts fans, I was a slow on the "fire everybody" train. My whole life (I'm 32) the Colts have been above average. Sometimes they were even great. But they've never been hopeless. There was always something to cheer for. When Peyton Manning left, they immediately & successfully tanked for Andrew Luck. When Andrew Luck died, there were still enough pieces in place to think that all we needed was an experienced quarterback to stay competitive. You may have had to do a bit of mental gymnastics at times, but a halfway optimistic Colts' fan could always convince themselves that they were a piece or two away from being legitimate contenders.

But Chris Ballard never got those pieces. For 8 years he was able to live off the goodwill the Colts had built up all those years before him, until one day everybody looked up and realized that the team hasn't actually done shit since he was hired in 2017. They've been nothing more than maybe an above .500 team ever since he took over. When the playoffs are on the line, they always manage to blow a game to a team who's actively trying to lose. When you look through the Colts' recent draft history, there's a whole lot of, "Who the hell is this guy?" or "Wait, what happened to him?"

Remember Rock-Ya Sin? He was the Colts' first pick in 2019. I forgot he existed. When you look back on what Chris Ballard has done, you realize he's done nothing at all. He took over the steering wheel and put the Colts organization on cruise control until it just kinda sputtered out. There weren't necessarily any egregious mistakes. Ironically enough, hiring Jeff Saturday off of a television set to be interim head coach might have been the best move he made. At least it secured a high draft pick. A pick used on Anthony Richardson. Who's been... well, he's been entertaining.

I've soured a bit on Pat McAfee lately. Not due to any of his Colts takes. Mostly just because I find him kind of annoying. Sometimes when I watch his show I wonder if he's doing a parody of himself. But if he feels strongly enough to post a 500+ word tweet ripping to shreds an organization that he loves, and dedicated so much of his life and career to, then he's probably on to something. Even though he was "just a punter", he played a huge role in that organization and building its culture in the 8 years he spent with the team. I gotta think he's got the situation pegged.

The Colts are far from the biggest dumpster fire, or the most hopeless team in the NFL. But there's clearly something missing beyond what a few more talented players can bring to the table. The Colts are an uninspiring football team. They're boring. For anybody who's not a Colts fan, the Colts are just kinda just there. Nobody thinks about them. Nobody fears them. Nobody hates them. Even with a quarterback as volatile as Anthony Richardson, who's given us some of the wildest moments of the NFL season, the Colts are still the most vanilla organization in the league.

I'm afraid of what Colts' fans reaction will be if Irsay doesn't fire both Chris Ballard and Shane Steichen at the end of the season. The Colts were like like a tinderbox that finally caught fire this year. Seemingly overnight, the fans went from completely docile to likening our GM to the worst terrorist our country has ever seen

If Jim Irsay wants the Colts to be seen as a serious organization again, he has to shake things up now. It's not even about the quarterback situation at this point. The Colts have been doing the same exact thing since Ballard took over and at no point have they improved. They've only gotten worse. But I will say, one of many things I like about Jim Irsay is that he usually listens to the fans. He may be an idiot, but he's not one of those owners who only cares about the bottom line. He wants to win as much as anyone. He does care what Colts' fans think about the team. And he certainly doesn't want Pat McAfee mad at him. I'd be shocked if we don't see a major overhaul after next week. He knows how close he is to losing people. Don't let it happen Jim. Fire the entire coaching staff. Fire Chris Ballard. Make the Colts great again. You know who to call.
