I'm Pumped For Squid Game Season 2 To Drop On Thursday

Netflix - Netflix unveils the main trailer and key art ‘Round and Round’ for the second season of the world’s most-watched show Squid Game. With its premiere just around the corner on December 26, the trailer delivers an electrifying glimpse into the deadly games and gripping character dynamics that await fans worldwide.

Seong Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae) returns, locked in a tense battle with the shadowy Front Man (Lee Byung-hun). As new games unfold, the stakes grow deadlier, and Gi-hun’s mission to end the games once and for all takes center stage. Will he succeed, or will the system claim even more victims?

The trailer draws viewers back into this gripping universe, along with new cast members Yim Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Park Gyu-young, Lee Jin-uk, Park Sung-hoon, Yang Dong-geun, Kang Ae-sim, and Jo Yu-ri who bring fresh intrigue and complexity to the world of Squid Game.

After three long years of waiting, and trying to make sense of that wild finale, Season 2 of Squid Game is almost here.

Thursday December 26th, it premiers.

Season 1 was most-watched Netflix series in history. Which is pretty crazy to think considering they also aired Tiger King at the peak of lockdowns, when we had nothing else to do other than watch that crazy fucker. (Sidebar - do you ever think about what the Netflix doc about the Covid lockdowns is going to be like in 10-20 years?)

Take a moment to remember just how obsessed everyone was with Season 1. It wasn’t just a show, it was a cultural phenomenon.

Every conversation, meme, and Halloween costume in 2021 was drenched in Squid Game fever.

The series racked up over 2 billion hours viewed on Netflix, leaving us all questioning what we’d do for 45.6 billion won (FUN FACT - Going by current currency rates (correct at the time of writing this article), 1 South Korean won equates to 0.00084 USD.

This means that the total prize money is roughly $38,393,239.20 and each contestant's value was $84,195.70.).

Now, with Season 2 finally on the horizon, the real question is: Can they do it again?

For those who forget, the series wrapped up with the main character, Seong Gi-hun, he ditched his plans to reunite with his daughter in the U.S. and instead made a sharp U-turn to take down the games.

The teaser trailer picks up right there, with Gi-hun back in his 456 uniform, surrounded by a new batch of unlucky contestants. How he gets roped back in—and what he plans to do this time—is one of my biggest questions. Is he really here to dismantle the system from the inside? Or is he just another pawn in the "Front Man".

And what about the games themselves? The trailer teases new challenges, but after the nightmare that was “Red Light, Green Light” and that terrifying glass bridge game, how do they raise the stakes without repeating themselves?

Are we getting even more brutal twists on childhood games?

Is the horrifying organ-harvesting subplot making a comeback?

There’s no shortage of ways for this show to break our spirits again, and honestly, I can’t wait.

There’s something morbidly fascinating about this show. It’s not just the suspense or the gore. It’s the message on the current state of society.
