After Getting My Hopes Up For The Last Time With The Indiana Hoosiers, I'm Officially Done Watching Sports

The Hoosiers have crushed my spirt yet again. I'm done getting my hopes up for big games, from this day on I'm putting my time into worthwhile ventures that will put my name in the mix with great modern minds like Louis Pasteur or Jonas Sulk. Sucks I chose this life on a Saturday filled with ball, but the line has been drawn. Will I most likely break this vow and throw it all away for Pacer's regular season basketball vs the Sacramento Kings? 100%. But those 3rd world children with bulging stomachs will have to understand that Tyrese Haliburton may be back to being good again.

If only Indiana played better on offense, defense, and special teams … I think they would have beat Notre Dame. Saying the Hoosiers didn't play great is an understatement, but I was least impressed with the play calling. To preface this - YES, Cignetti pulled this program out from the depths of college football rock bottom and gave Indiana double digit wins for the first time ever, and I'd ride to the gates of hell with Coach Cig. BUT, for a guy that preaches winning is everything, and telling the football world they belong with the big dogs - Indiana played scared. Fair catching every kickoff when you need a spark was sad to see, and punting down 17 (when your punter has been pissing down his leg every big moment) while you have no problem fake punting up a billion against Purdue are moments that made me question what the guy who has won almost every coach of the year award is doing.

Indiana obviously belongs in the college football playoff, and I have all the faith they'll be back next season. Don't listen to the SEC freaks spin the narrative the Hoosiers didn't belong because the smooth brain southerners need to push their agenda because their whole life revolves around their school who can't beat Vanderbilt. These people had their minds made up before kickoff. Schools people think are deserving get beat by far greater margins than Indiana did last night, and you don't hear a peep. Football experts (I use that term loosely with guys like Colin Cowherd) saying Indiana should never be invited back to the playoff again should be banned from talking about sports. Hey … ever heard of a team called Notre Dame? They get hyped up EVERY. SINGLE. YEAR. and for the last 25 years they have shit the bed in every big game. ND lost their first playoff game to Clemson 30-3, but they get invited every year. (I'm sorry ND fans, you are playing like one of the best teams in this college playoff, but I'm proving a point)

This blog is going to bring the freaks into my mentions, but I'm not here to argue. I'm done with it. Go win. You can poke holes in everyone's resume in college football this year, except for Oregon who won every game on their schedule. Maybe we shouldn't have conferences with 18 teams? Maybe be upset with the NCAA. While it sucks Indiana is out, I'm so ready for college football to be done so fanbases can stop doing the Spider-man meme pointing the finger at who has lost the best and won the worst. Maybe in the offseason we can all go read a book on how to dig a well and bring clean water to a village in need, or jump down in it and drown yourself so you don't have to hear anymore dumb arguments.
