The Internet Is Mad At Travis Hunter's Girlfriend For Not Standing Up After He Won The Heisman Until Deion Nudged Her

Listen, unless you live under a rock you heard about Travis Hunter winning the Heisman last night. I'll save the debate on whether or not Jeanty should have won it. Travis had a hell of a year and Big Cat won a crazy future from believing in him from the start. But what repeatedly keeps showing up in my for you page is tweets of the video surfacing of Deion nudging Travis' girlfriend to make her stand after he won the trophy. I'll start by saying it doesn't look great from an initial watch, but there's probably more to the story here.

Besides, Twitter loves nothing more than interjecting themselves into celebrity relationships that they have no idea about. I could write 10 blogs a week about it, whether that's this situation or even a few days ago with the whole Sabrina Carpenter/Barry Keoghan/Breckie Hill rumors. A quick search of "Travis Hunter girlfriend" proves this, because there's thousands of tweets with millions of impressions. 

And look, I'm a benefit of the doubt guy. My best informed guess is that she has never been to a Heisman ceremony before that ended up with her boyfriend winning the award and didn't know proper etiquette. I don't think it's that crazy of an assumption to think she just had no idea how to act and Deion obviously does. And I don't think Twitter warriors can tell you the full scope of someone's relationship either without knowing any of it. Now, is Travis going to end up with an inevitable heartbreak and use that hurt to fuel his way to 7 consecutive NFL MVPs? Maybe, but at the end of the day, she introduced him to Lil Wayne:
