Eli Manning Has Officially Thrown His Hat In The Ring To Be The Giants Starting QB On Sunday

That's it, I've seen enough! Eli Manning should be the QB1 for Sunday's game against the Baltimore Ravens.

I know most teams wouldn't be making their starting QB decisions based on a trick shot, albeit a fucking awesome one. But the New York Giants aren't most teams. They are one of the most embarrassing franchises in the NFL over the last decade. So why not bring back a guy who had them at least In The Hunt every year along with the two championships he won against the greatest coach and QB in NFL history? It beats the hell out of the current starter, whose greatest strength by my calculation is being a local high school legend and a favorite of Italian Giants fans.

I also understand that Eli hasn't played in years. But there is nothing he could do on Sunday that could be worse than the display the Giants put on in practice against defenders and fucking AIR on Thursday.

The clincher in all this is that the 2024 season is the 100 year anniversary of the New York Giants and there is nothing the Giants love doing more than honoring past accomplishments as the current season devolves into a flaming pile of shit. So why not cap off their century season by bringing back the face of the last time this team instilled any true pride in their fans? You can even make a case that everything started going downhill once the Giants benched Eli out of nowhere and then followed it up by hiring Dave Gettleman to try to make good by attempting to build around a guy who should've been given a graceful exit after that season.

So hopefully number 10 is taking snaps for Big Blue on Sunday thanks to that strike he threw. Eli will be outmanned and have no offensive line to speak of. But he'll be used to it because the Giants have been playing from behind in every aspect of the game since he was the starter five years ago.
