How College Lacrosse Actually Stole Bill Belichick From The NFL
Over the next few days you'll be seeing plenty of stories coming out from a bunch of mouthpiece, shill reporters saying nonsense like "Bill Belichick wasn't attracting much interest in yet another cycle of NFL coaching hires". They'll say that Bill Belichick left to go coach at the University of North Carolina because there was no longer a spot left for Bill Belichick in the NFL.
That couldn't be further from the truth. Bill Belichick could coach any team he wants to, actually. But he chose to go to UNC for one reason and one reason only.
The man loves college lacrosse. He's a total lax rat, and just wants to be as close to it as possible. So if his good pal and current UNC assistant coach Dave Pietramala could get him an in at Chapel Hill? He was going to take it 10 times out of 10. What was this man supposed to do during his off days in Foxboro? Just go around trying out different Dunkin Donuts locations? Now when he's not in season with the football team, he gets to spend every spring around a top 20 program and one of the most talented players in the nation.
Fact of the matter is that we've seen Bill Belichick inch closer and closer to the lacrosse world ever since he signed Chris Hogan (did you know he used to play college lacrosse?). He's been itching to get back into the sport, and now he's right across the hall from one of the most coveted coaching positions in the country. UNC head coach Joe Breschi is on the hot seat heading into this spring. If he can't get UNC back on top in the ACC, then maybe it's time for North Carolina to execute Order BB.
