Wake Up With The First Trailer For '28 Years Later'

Sometime after the events of 28 Weeks Later, the Rage Virus has returned, and a group of survivors must survive in a world ravaged by hordes of the infected.

As a big big fan of 28 Days Later and, to a lesser extend, 28 Weeks Later, this really got the juice flowing. Be technical about the Rage virus not being zombies all you want, the original is one of the best zombie movies ever made in my opinion. Perfectly grasps that pure feeling of desperation while being expertly acted by a crew of future heavy hitters in Cillian Murphy and Brendan Gleeson. 28 Weeks Later got a little lost in the sauce trying to convert the idea into a bigger scale with more action and less horror, but it's also still pretty damn good.

One of the things that intrigues me about this movie is how they set up the world. 2 things were made clear in 28 weeks: The zombies were unleashed on Europe and those zombies starve out at the same rate as a normal human. So how is the virus still kicking 28 years later? This thing was fast-acting as hell so you'd think all the damage would be done relatively quickly. I don't really know, but the trailer makes it seem like the UK reverted to the middle ages which seems kinda cool.

On the backend, the movie retaining its twin foundational pillars. Danny Boyle is back to direct and Alex Garland was back on the script (after missing 28 weeks later). This movie is also apparently the start of a new trilogy, with the sequel '28 Years Later Part II: The Bone Temple' in development with Nia DaCosta (Candyman) signed on to direct.
