The Hawk Tuah Girl Launched a Meme Coin, Everybody Lost Their Money, People Want Her Thrown in Jail

TIMELINE

5:20 PM EST

5:49 PM EST

Giphy Images.

I'm sorry that time frame isn't actually representative of how fast everybody who invested in $HAWK lost all their money. It happened before she even got her announcement out. Hawkcoin investors lost their money in negative time.

5:19 PM EST

I'm certainly not the best person to give any sort of cryptocurrency advice. And I'm willing to bet that Hawk Tuah isn't either. I'm willing to bet Hawk Tuah (who by all accounts seems like an innocent enough girl who's trying nothing more than to make the most out of her 15 minutes of fame) is not the mastermind behind a scam in which she fleeces her fan base for millions of dollars via Hawkcoin. But as little as I know about the world of cryptocurrency, I know enough to know that if you don't know shit, and some crypto bros (or crypto bitches) who you don't know and trust VERY well ask you to be the face of a coin that thousands of people will foolishly throw significant amounts of money into… you probably shouldn't fucking do it. I can't help but think that might be the case with our friend Hawk Tuah here.

But we can't know for certain that Ms. Tuah herself isn't one of the token insiders who kept 97% of $HAWK's supply and are actively selling it off to steal money hand over fist. Maybe this was Hawk Tuah's master plan all along. Make viral blow job joke, become famous, start podcast, build following, con following out of millions and bank on the fact that the crypto world is unregulated enough that you won't face any legal ramifications.

According to community notes… and according to public information that tells us exactly who is holding and selling all the "available" Hawkcoin.. it is in fact members of the Hawktuah team who are profiting off of this. Despite what Hawk Tuah copy and pasted to us.

Not looking great for Haliey. Just a few days ago her primary concern was what Wiz Khalifa thought about the contents of her Pookie's DM's. Now the internet masses are standing on her internet doorstep with their internet torches and pitchforks demanding that she be sent to real life prison.

Maybe this is me being extremely ignorant. Maybe it's my inner misogynist telling me this pretty little blonde southern gal couldn't possibly have the wherewithal to pull off something like this. Maybe she manufactured her entire image for this very moment in which she can instantaneously make millions of dollars under the guise of ignorance. But I can't help but think this girl is getting taking advantage of in a MASSIVE way.

I guess we just have to wait and see what comes of it. I'm still very unclear on when people can actually go to jail for crypto scams. But from what I've learned, this has the makings of a classic rug pull.

Coindesk - What Is a Crypto Rug Pull?

A rug pull is a type of exit scam that involves a team raising money from investors and the public by selling a token only to quietly shut down the project or suddenly disappear, stealing the raised funds and leaving “investors” (i.e., their victims) with worthless tokens.

Rug pulls can be extensively orchestrated, with nefarious actors leveraging social media influencers and hype-generating campaigns to lure as many victims as possible.

Which people have absolutely done real time for.

Creditcoin - Rug pulling is considered theft and fraud in most jurisdictions. Authorities like the SEC and FBI actively pursue rug-pull scammers, and penalties are severe. You'll likely face felony charges and years in federal prison if caught and convicted.

Your assets will be seized. Any profits you make will be paid back to victims.

You'll have a criminal record that will follow you for life. Employers will not want to hire you. Depending on the scale, you could be looking at decades behind bars.

It only makes sense that the Hawk Tuah story arch would have a crypto scam in it somewhere. I don't personally wish prison time upon Hawk Tuah if she's truly ignorant in all of this. Not that ignorance is an excuse. But I have a heart. I don't root for people to be taken advantage of. Now matter how objectively funny it would be if the tale of Hawk Tuah ended with her behind bars for financial crimes.

Moral of the story here: If you're newly famous on the internet and are approached by ANYBODY who wants to use your likeness to create a cryptocurrency. Just say no. Make your quick cash the old fashioned way (OnlyFans). Unless you really fucking know what your doing.

UPDATE:

Haliey Welch and her $HAWK people held a Twitter space last night to tell the Hawk Truth

Shockingly, they did not take responsibility for anything, and are dying on the hill that everything they did was above board.
