Smart Business - Montana's Basketball Coach Wants Home Court Advantage, So He's Buying Beer For Students Who Show Up To Their Game Tonight
This is how you do mid-major basketball right here. Montana playing South Dakota State, two teams expected to be in the NCAA Tournament. Should be a good game, all that stuff. But that's not the point, just setting up the background for the promo here. Love the idea, but you gotta do a little bit more. 100 people getting a beer and/or $10 concession stand voucher is a great start but can't limit it to just one beer. Put up the entire tab for the first half or something like that. Keep it going so you don't have people grab a beer and leave. The first half at least gives you a bigger advantage and not that expensive (the coach isn't paying for all of it, let's be honest).
I say it all the time, but there's nothing better than a free beer, especially when you're in college. We're all broke in college, not that money matters in college. You find a bar that's $10 all you can drink on Thursday's (shout out Two Keys), you get the $1 pitcher nights and all the other specials and find a way to survive week to week. But that moment your parents come visit and drop off a case or something like that? That beer just tastes a little crisper, a little better. Throw in a win and it's a top beer of the week. Genius marketing.
