Big Dom DiSandro Reportedly Turned Down A Hollywood Movie Deal About His Life, Which Probably Saved The Eagles Season
Hand up, we all got a little too caught up in the Big Dom craze last year. The man is a legend, that much is for sure. But Bigfoot is a legend. And part of what makes Bigfoot such a legend is the fact that people only claim to see him every once in a while. If we saw Bigfoot every single day and heart about his every single move, people would start to get sick of Bigfoot pretty quick.
The same can be said about Eagles' Chief of Security, Big Dom DiSandro. Part of what made this man so interesting is that we only saw him occasionally on the sidelines during random moments of an Eagles game. He wasn't front and center. The broadcast didn't revolve around him. He was just there and every so often, you'd point at your screen like the Leonardo DiCaprio watching TV meme saying "there's Big Dom!".
The moment that Big Dom started to catch a little too much of the attention, the Eagles immediately collapsed. Coincidence? Maybe. But sometimes it's better to believe in Cause And Effect more than coincidence. If the cause of the Eagles collapse was that Big Dom was started to get too much of the spotlight, then maybe it's better off that Big Dom ended up turning down a Hollywood movie deal.
If the Big Dom movie deal went down, you can bet your sweet ass that this season would have completely gone off the rails after the bye week. I know that we here at Barstool Sports [dot] com have a tendency to run things into the ground, but nobody knows how to kill something good quite like Hollywood. You've got something special and organic happening? Here come the leeches from Hollywood to bleed it dry of everything that made it great.
So credit to Big Dom for turning down the deal, leaving the money on the table, and just letting the main thing be the main thing. A lesser Chief of Security would have 100% taken the money. But Big Dom is a team guy through and through.
