Bucky Irving, Who Now Leads All NFL Rookies In Total Yards, Puts The Bucs On His Back In Must Win Division Game

Bucky Irving was picked in the 4th round, 125th overall out of Oregon. The 5'10" 195 lbs. ran a 4.55 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine and wasn't seen necessarily as a speedster coming out. 

But he impressed in camp and burst onto the scene in Week 1. He has really established himself as one of the most elusive runners in the NFL. Every week watching the game live and on the All-22, he jumps off the screen.

And today when the team needed him most, down 16-10 in the 4th Quarter, he carried the ball time after time, blugeoning the Panthers run defense en route to a TD. And then with the team clinging to that 17-16 lead late in the 4th Quarter, he broke off this 43-yard run to get the Bucs into scoring position.

He finished with 25 carries for 152 yards and 1 TD on the ground to go along with 3 catches for 33 yards receiving. This just a week after he had a career day against the Giants.

Bucky now leads all NFL rookies in total yards and had it not been for a guy named Jayden Daniels, would be a legit threat for Rookie of the Year. 

The Bucs pulled off the win in overtime vs. the Carolina Panthers to move to 6-6 to pull into a tie with the Atlanta Falcons atop the division. The Falcons own the tiebreaker having beat the Bucs twice this season, but the Bucs have momentum with their second straight win out of their bye week and face the Raiders next week in the Jon Gruden Bowl.
