Forecaster Frank NFL Week 13: Talking Turkey
Thanksgiving
- Det -9.5 (o/u 48)
- Lions 41 Bears 17
After years of being the appetizer, the Lions are the main course this Thanksgiving at 10-1. Their offense has been potent, and their defense is playing well despite losing Aidan Hutchinson. The Bears have struggled on the road all season; expect a big day from the Lions, who show America this team can win the Super Bowl.
- Dal -3.5 (ou 37.5)
- Cowboys 30 Giants 16
Two teams that are having a disastrous season. This game is like going to Thanksgiving and getting served tofurky. It's gonna be ugly; some people may ingest it, but nobody will be satisfied.
- GB -3.5 (o/u 47.5)
- Packers 24 Dolphins 20
The Dolphins have played better since Tua Tagovailoa returned from his concussion, and they are trying to get back into the playoff picture. However, games like this are why beating teams like the Titans and Colts was vital early in the year. The forecast calls for snow flurries and temps in the 20s. The Dolphins with Tua never win those conditions.
Black Friday
- KC -13 (o/u 42.5)
- Chiefs 34 Raiders 16
The Chiefs are 11-1, but they have struggled against the spread all season. Last Christmas, the Raiders upset the Chiefs at Arrowhead. However, the Raiders look like a team that has quit on the season, as there is a feeling of hopelessness with quarterback Garnder Minshew out with a broken collarbone. Expect the Chiefs to find their stride as they blow out the Raiders.
Sunday at 1
- Atl +1 (o/u 47.5)
- Falcons 23 Chargers 20
The Falcons and Chargers are the Spiderman meme. Two teams that are a mirror image, winning games when you least expect and underperforming when they are expected to win. They seem to end up with the same record, too. The Falcons have struggled recently and are due for a good win.
- Cin -3 (o/u 47.5)
- Bengals 24 Steelers 16
The Bengals sit on the brink. A loss and their playoff hopes are wiped out. They have had many frustratingly close losses and are 1-4 at home. The Steelers have clawed their way to wins all season, but these two teams will even out, and that happens on Sunday as the Bengals get the win they have waited for all season.
- Hou -4 (o/u 44)
- Texans 37 Jaguars 13
The Texans have been sputtering, with C.J. Stroud undergoing a sophomore slump. The Jaguars, meanwhile, have been a disaster. In fact, the recent new advertising for Jaguar could also represent Jacksonville's season.
- Min -3.5 (o/u 45)
- Vikings 27 Cardinals 17
The Vikings may not be impressive every week, but they win as they are 9-2. The Cardinals had a four-game winning streak end last week in Seattle. Another challenging road game brings more bad news for the Redbirds.
- Ind -2.5 (o/u 42.5)
- Colts 20 Patriots 10
The Colts are on the fringe of the playoffs; if the Texans slump, they can get a home playoff game. The Patriots have been good in flashes, as Drake Maye has been solid. However, the coaching in New England has been uneven all season and sets up another lousy game in Foxboro.
- Sea -2 (o/u 42)
- Seahawks 27 Jets 10
The health of Aaron Rodgers is a question mark, as the Jets weigh shutting him down. The Seahawks have had their ups and downs but are 6-0 lifetime at MetLife Stadium. Expect Geno Smith to come out motivated in a revenge game to add to Gang Green's frustrations.
- Was -5.5 (o/u 44.5)
- Commanders 31 Titans 17
The Commanders come into the game with three straight losses. They are due to get back in the win column, as the Titans are the perfect exliar. Look for a big day from Jayden Daniels as the Commanders win going away.
Sunday Late Games
- TB -5.5 (o/u 46.5)
- Buccaneers 31 Panthers 20
The Panthers have played well over the last few weeks, giving the Chiefs all they could handle last week. The Buccaneers got healthy after Mike Evans returned last week. Expect them to continue their late playoff push as they get a big game from Baker Mayfield.
- LAR -2.5 (o/u 49.5)
- Rams 27 Saints 21
The Rams and Saints both have been inconsistent. They both can make a run but have, more often than not, stumbled in games they could win. The Rams have some weapons on offense that will be able to take advantage of the Saints' defense deficiencies.
- Bal -3 (o/u 50.5)
- Ravens 34 Eagles 30
The Ravens and Eagles both can light up the scoreboard. The Ravens' offense has been the best in the NFL, while their defense has struggled. I get the sense the Ravens are about to go on a run while the Eagles, who have been soaring, are due for a loss, especially in a tough spot on the road.
Sunday Night
- Buf -7 (o/u 44.5)
- Bills 30 49ers 10
The 49ers have not been healthy all season. Christian McCaffery missed the first two months. Injuries to the receiving core and offensive line, along with Brock Purdy, who missed the game last week. Snow is in the forecast for Buffalo, who will add to the Niners' frustration with an easy win.
Monday Night
- Den -5.5 (o/u 41.5)
- Broncos 24 Browns 16
Jameis Winston is feeling good after a win in the snow against the Steelers. However, Winston's ability to play back-to-back quality games has been a problem his entire career. The Broncos' defense is strong, with Bo Nix making a run as offensive rookie of the year while succeeding as quarterback. This looks like a big win for Denver.
