Wake Up Babe: New Stupidest Rule In The History Of The NFL Just Dropped

I need you all to seriously watch and listen to Mike Pereira's explanation for why the boundary view could not have been considered when reviewing the Bears challenge in which Jordan Addison clearly went out of bounds on a long reception.

"Question of equity".

This was so mind blowingly stupid I saw red and blacked out for a few minutes. Looking at my computer screen, it appears somewhere in there I registered as a republican. "Question of equity". That's why we can't use cameras other stadiums don't have. Stadium DEI.

This is as good a comparison to Kurt Vonnegut's Harrison Bergeron as you're going to get. Not all stadiums (or stages) have all the nice things so you can only use the ones everyone has in common. Wouldn't want any stadiums to feel bad, I guess. Now there's levels to this. First, for a billion dollar industry, you'd think they'd just make sure every stadium has everything instead of specifically designing a rule to address the stadiums that don't. That's insanity as it is. But the worst part to me is the very rationale we started with.

"Question of equity".

There's no good reason to give any sort of fuck about what other stadiums have or don't have. The only teams that things need to be fair for are the two on the field. And unless I'm wrong, which I'm not, both teams operate with or without the boundary cameras depending on what stadium they are playing in. I don't care if there's another stadium with box cameras borrowed from some Ansel Adams museum, it has absolutely no bearing. What about stadiums that dont have hats on, NFL? Why do some stadiums get hats an others have to stay out in the cold? NOT FAIR!!

Let's move on. You'll notice Pereira did say the boundary cameras COULD be used for an official review. Like on scoring plays. WHAAT?

So here's where the NFL logic is as I see it...

1. Stadium equity is good because we don't want underprivileged stadiums to feel lesser than

2. Unless it's a scoring play, then fuck em.

Seriously, NFL. Tip of the cap. This had little to zero impact on the game, but of all the colossally stupid rules you think of, let alone actually write out, this one might actually be the dumbest one I've ever heard. Look at you being all equitible even though you could have just as easily GIVEN these stadiums with a lesser Socioeconomic status what they'd need to be on a fair playing field.
