MAJOR NEWS: Gabriel Macht's Harvey Specter Will Return In The New 'Suits' Series Next Year
As you may know, over the last two years the hit show 'Suits' received a nice shot in the arm thanks to Netflix nabbing their rights. What happened next was an explosion of epic proportion. People were introduced to a great show that was buried on the USA network and proceeded to get hooked in seconds. I'll always say Suits has one of the better pilots for a show you'll ever see. Not sure how you watch that and don't stick around. In 2023, four years after its end, the show logged 57.7 BILLION minutes on Netflix, further proving my point about the pilot. Because of the second wind, it became obvious we needed more Suits in our lives. Co-stars Gabriel Macht and Patrick J. Adams were then brought in to reprise their roles in bunch of T Mobile ads. The two went on to present at the Golden Globes as they joined by Gina Torres (Jessica) and Sarah Rafferty (Donna).
Adams and Rafferty got together and started a podcast dedicated to the show where they rewatched all the episodes and talked all the behind the scenes.
It was also announced that Suits would be making a comeback, with a new show beginning in 2025 within the same world as the original. Stephen Amell is set to take the lead in Suits: LA. As a big fan of the show, I was willing to give it a shot (cautiously), especially with Aaron Korsh back running the whole thing. Yesterday it was revealed that it would release in late February.
A day later we woke up to Gabriel Macht teasing something regarding Harvey. Don't mess with my heart. I held out hope he's part of the show, but it easily could have been something to do with the podcast, which would have been a big letdown.
Well, turns out it's the best news possible. Harvey Specter is in fact BACK.
The motherfucking king has returned!!! Sure it's only for three episodes, but I'll take it. I really don't know how many people were actually excited for a new Suits show with all new characters. When you throw Harvey in the mix though, that gets everyone's attention. We all know what they're doing too. They get three episodes of the big man to make the rest of the characters seem worth a damn. That's the power his character has with the Suits fanbase. Will it almost certainly leave us wanting of Harvey? Absolutely. He's one of the best TV characters in the game. There's a good chance he's so much better than the new lead that it ruins anything they're trying to do, but at least those three eps will be epic.
Kinda crazy that Gabriel Macht hasn't acted in anything since Suits. When the show ended he moved with his family to the UK. It's a shame because this man should be a leading actor in movies! Am I crazy to think he could play a really good Bruce Wayne?
Either way, what a get for this new Suits show to get him out of retirement. Even if it's just for three episodes, they've got this idiot penciled in to watch. If they're smart they save him for the final three episodes so we're forced to watch the beginning and understand the story. Harvey forever.
P.S. I'll always resent Katherine Heigl for ruining the end of this series. Her seasons are unwatchable.
