The US Finally Has A Real Soccer Coach: It Took All Of ONE (1) Match For Mauricio Pochettino To Snap The Saddest And Most Pathetic USMNT Stats

You wanna talk about sad stats? This right here is it. Yeah, yeah, I'm aware how tough it is to win on the road, especially CONCACAF where shit gets weird. But 1 road win in nearly 6 years of being a coach is fucking horrible. I had to check all over the place to make sure it's true. Surely, the United States soccer team won more road games, but we haven't. A lot of ties, absolutely, not a lot of wins.

And I know most people will freak out that a 1-0 win at Jamaica isn't enough, even though it's just leg 1 of the home-and-home quarterfinals. But it's a win and that's all that matters. We got there thanks to Ricardo Pepi scoring (Pulisic assist, all he does is good things):

Matt Turner saved a penalty (all he does is basically save PK's)

Yunus Musah with a massive tackle:

Like I said, that field was gross. That's why it's important to get a win, no matter how ugly it might be. It's Poch's first road trip and he got a win. Shit, he did as much as Berhalter did in nearly 6 years on the road in CONCACAF. Now we have a 1-0 lead heading into the match in St. Louis on Monday. That's all that matters. Like I said with this group and what's going on in these windows is taking care of business. Pochettino needs to figure out what guys are gonna be his guys, who can start locking in spots for the 2026 World Cup and build from there. I thought Tessman was awesome in his start. Pepi is making a case for the clear starting 9 with Balogun hurt.

PS: Some more sad stats that are no longer sad because we have a competent coach out there
