The FBI Is Investigating Two Burglaries That Took Place at Patrick Mahomes & Travis Kelce's Homes On Back-To-Back Days

NBC News - Mahomes and Kelce, the star tight end and boyfriend of Taylor Swift, were both break-in victims at their respective homes in the Kansas City area.

"Obviously, it’s frustrating, disappointing," Mahomes told reporters in advance of his team's game Sunday against the Buffalo Bills. "I can't get into too many of the details because the investigation is still ongoing. But obviously it's something that you don’t want to happen to, really anybody, but obviously yourself."

The QB's house in Belton, Missouri, was hit early Oct. 6, while Kelce's place in Leawood, Kansas, was broken into Oct. 7.

The players were apparently not home as they prepared for Kansas City's Monday Night Football win over the New Orleans Saints on Oct. 7. Mahomes, though, declined to discuss his whereabouts at the time burglars struck.

"I can’t speak too much about the details of everything, just with the investigation going on," Mahomes said. "But I’m sure at some point that will be talked about."

This an interesting coincidence. Makes for a fun little mystery. Two superstars from the Kansas City Chiefs. The greatest current dynasty in professional sports. One the boyfriend of the biggest international superstar in all of music. The other's wife is kind of annoying. Both their homes are burgled within a day of each other. The FBI has opened an investigation. Security expert Mike Barbieri openly states that he believes the burglaries were an inside job. Which implies to me that they were somehow connected. A regular whodunit.

Since that's quite literally all we know about the situation, it would be irresponsible of me to start wildly speculating as to who might have done something like this.

Obviously your first thought is career criminal Chiefsaholic. The highly prolific bank robbing superfan of the Kansas City Chiefs.

A man that dedicated to the Chiefs would likely know the schedules of his team's most important players in a very creepy, very intrusive way. However, as I understand it, Chiefsaholic is in a midst of a 17-year prison sentence. So we can cross him off the list.

The only person left is Patrick Mahomes' evil younger brother Jackson.

Jackson Mahomes has a criminal past. His past crimes are of a sexual nature. He was arrested for a sex crime. Which goes to show he has a problem keeping his hands on what belongs to him. Could it be possible that evil, jealous Jackson was upset with the amount of financial support his multi-millionaire brother Patrick provided him throughout his legal proceedings. Was he upset that Patrick didn't shell out the money for a well-dressed, fast talking Johnny Cochran-esque showboat of a lawyer to defend him in a fun & whimsical manner. Instead he was stuck with these two snoozefests.

They probably didn't make his sexual assault trial fun at all.

On top of that, could he have been upset that with the addition of pop sensation Taylor Swift to their game day crew, Jackson was no longer the eye candy of the group. The pre-game, arm-heavy dances that he blessed the Chiefs, and in turn the world, with every Sunday were no longer the talk of town.

Nobody cared about hot Jackson anymore. He was demoted to the back of the suite. Forced to fight for screen time with the most popular person on the face of the earth. Lurking awkwardly behind her so that maybe ESPN's cameras will catch him in the shot as well, and for a brief second people will remember he exists.

So as payback for the injustice, could he have broke into their homes. He didn't steal a lot. Just a quick $20K from Travis' sock drawer. The items missing from Patrick's home are undisclosed. But I'm certain he couldn't have stolen enough to cause him any real financial hardship. But it wasn't about that. It was a long con. Jackson knows that you can't put a price on one's sense of security. It was about planting that little seed in the back of their minds that they might not be safe, even within the walls of their own home. A form of mental torture if you will. Could that be possible?

Certainly not. That's ridiculous. So if it's not Jackson, then I'm out of ideas. Could be anyone really. Maybe somebody who works on his cleaning crew. Possibly his chauffeur. Do they share a chef maybe? Maybe someone on one of their security details. Maybe a complete stranger. I don't have the slightest clue. Your guess is as good as mine.

Fingers crossed that the FBI gets to the bottom of this soon.
