The Rumors Are True: LIV Golf Is Coming To Indianapolis In 2025

WISH TV - LIV Golf is headed to the Indianapolis area in 2025.

Sources tell News 8’s Sports Director Anthony Calhoun that the city of Westfield and LIV Golf have an agreement in place to bring the star-studded tournament to town.

The LIV Golf tournament will be at the prestigious course at The Club at Chatham Hills in Westfield the weekend of August 15-17, 2025. This is the first time that LIV Golf will be in the state of Indiana.

The tournament in central Indiana is expected to draw over 50,000 fans during the three-day event.

The tournament will be the individual champions final. The typical tournament purse pays out $4 million to the winner.

This is kind of bigger news if you've actually been to a LIV event and have witnessed how much better it is than a PGA event. In that case then we're already on the same page because it's very much true. LIV events are significantly more fun and only getting better over time. I say that for three primary reasons:

1. VIBE: Objectively young and attractive crowds with music blaring and drink stations everywhere. It teeters on a festival atmosphere without the obnoxious bullshit.

2. PROXIMITY: The ropes are tight and foot traffic is generally lighter. You can basically get a whiff of Sergio's ass on the right par 3. They basically let you stand on the tee box, close enough to hear a caddie's thoughts.

3. SHOTGUN START: There's no standing around with your dick-in-hand, waiting for the right threesome. There's way less strategy and thus wasted time with a shotgun start. You get a chance to see everyone without trying to navigate start/end times and that makes for a much easier social commitment.

These are my official 3 reasons why LIV events are better than PGA events. You can add as you see fit, but don't disagree because then you'd be wrong.

With that said, I think going to Indy right after Chicago is a genius addition to the tour, Doug. That's because the Midwest rocks. It has the best people, the most affordable real estate and the country's most passionate diehards.

Especially in that weird Indy-to-Chicago corridor where the rust belt wears into Midwest metropolitan culture. There's a whole lot of grey area that's ripe for the taking and I think LIV is smart enough to sense that. Especially given the quality of the blue collar Indy sports fan. The kinda guys that are always voting John Daly into their ALL-TIME foursome based purely on lifestyle choices. Those are good fucking people and they deserve an annual professional golf tournament.

Credit to LIV for filling that void.

And while we're here - you contrarians can give it a rest already. I know your dad prefers the PGA Tour but you're on the wrong side of 35 years old and should probably start thinking for yourself. Or don't. But either way you're dead fucking wrong to rule out the LIV tour on poorly applied personal foreign-policy idealogy. Especially if you can't even hit a gap wedge.

Maybe just lighten up and try to enjoy some sun and cold beverages.

Maybe LIV a little.
