There Has Never Been a More Textbook Targeting Penalty Than Miami Trying To Kill Georgia Tech's RB Multiple Times on the Same Play

It's a borderline miracle Georgia Tech running back Trey Cooley walked off the field fine after this play. Miami was called for two penalties on this play — illegal hands to the face by a defensive lineman and the obvious targeting — and that's with the officials ignoring the blatant facemask that nearly ripped Cooley's helmet off before he got destroyed. Luckily, his helmet stayed on just long enough to still be hanging on when that hit was delivered, or this clip might have ended much differently.

This play only resulting in a 15-yard penalty is criminally insane. If we can buzz down to the officials to look at a targeting call, surely we can implement a rule that multiple penalties can be enforced on the same play if a team tries to murder an opponent.

Luckily for Cooley, he was fine and remained in the game. And luckily for America, Georgia Tech might be about to deliver a massive blow to the most fraudulent team in the country.
