Indiana Football Making The First College Football Bracket Projection Changes Nothing, All That Matters Is Michigan This Saturday

The College Football Playoff projected bracket show was an incredibly lame attempt to get eyeballs on a night where everyone is focused on the presidential election and of course the real event of the night -MACtion. With so much football left in the college season, none of this truly matters, but it's nice to see what the first 12 team post season could look like in college football.

8th ranked Indiana makes the bracket as a 9 seed going on the road against 7th ranked Tennessee as an 8 seed - an exciting matchup, and I don't know if the word to use is irony, but I'd say Indiana basketball program is like the Tennessee football program. A ton of success and titles years ago, and in recent years have under performed, especially based off the insanely high expectations of the fan bases.

BUT, this isn't about Indiana basketball. This is a selection show about Indiana football, where Indiana is currently ranked higher than Notre Dame and Alabama. What a crazy world we are living in in the year 2024. Up until this week, Indiana was incredibly disrespected despite not really playing anyone, NOTRE DAME WAS RANKED HIGHER THAN IU AFTER LOSING AT HOME TO NORTHERN ILLINOIS AND ALSO HAD 77 SOS RANK COMPARED TO IU'S 103 SOS. So, if you watched the pre-game show, Joey Galloway can suck me from behind for acting like there hasn't been disrespect on Indiana's name. But after cracking the AP top 10 for the first time this week, Indiana is finally getting a sliver of the respect they deserve for blowing the doors off everyone they've faced. Could they be higher? Yes. If Notre Dame and Indiana were in opposite positions, the committee would be slobbering all over ND's golden nobs. At least Booger had Indiana's back on the show.

At the end of the day, none of this matters. I'm a disciple of Coach Cignetti, I know this is all a massive distraction, and we must stay the course. Right now Cig is telling everyone in the locker room the only thing that matters at this moment is the game against Michigan on Saturday. Then, every single football fan knows that Indiana making the CFP truly depends on beating Ohio State. No one with a brain can say Indiana doesn't deserve to be in the playoff with a win against the second ranked team in the country. But, obviously the other side of that is if Indiana loses, then everyone can point, laugh, and say I told you they didn't belong. So we didn't really learn anything major from this bracket projection show, except for the fact that Joey Galloway has made an enemy for life after comparing Indiana's schedule to Army as similar schedules.
