'You've Got To Get The Right Guys On The Team To Win' - Malik Nabers Is Practically Begging The Giants To Stop Ruining The Franchise With Terrible Decisions

I love this quote from Malik Nabers. People might say he''s throwing people under the bus. Good. People should be thrown under the bus. It's been 12 years since the Giants have actually mattered. You want to say he's a rookie who should keep his mouth shut? No. He's one of the few, very few, players on the team who should be on the team and have a future here. Doesn't help he sees his college quarterback winning all the time, including yesterday against him. Meanwhile we have Daniel Jones throwing for 0 yards and a touchdown in the first half. No shit we need better players.

But you know what it goes down to? Look at the Giants first round draft picks over the last decade:

2014 - Odell Beckham (12)

2015 - Ereck Flowers (9)

2016 - Eli Apple (10)

2017 - Evan Engram (23)

2018 - Saquon Barkley (2)

2019 - Daniel Jones (6)

2019 - Dexter Lawrence (17)

2019 - Deandre Baker (30)

2020 - Andrew Thomas (4)

2021 - Kadarius Toney (20)

2022 - Kayvon Thiboudeaux (5)

2022 - Evan Neal (7)

2023 - Deonte Banks (24)

2024 - Malik Nabers (6)

In a word - gross. Ereck Flowers? Bum. Eli Apple? Bum. Evan Engram? Couldn't catch a ball on the Giants. Saquon? Don't draft a running back 2nd overall when rebuilding. Daniel Jones? Better fullback than QB. Dexter Lawrence? Awesome. Deandre Baker? Out of the league. Andrew Thomas? Awesome, when healthy. Kadarius Toney? Bum. Kayvon? Fine when healthy. Evan Neal? 3rd string. Deonte Banks? Bum.

So, yeah, get better players. Seems simple. Love that Nabers wants to build up and be in the mud. But at some point he build up can't be 12 years long. You can't keep rotating in GM's and coaches. You can't keep trying to get a Brian Burns and think everything is settled. It comes down to getting a new, correct QB and figuring out the offensive line. This thing went to shit the moment Andrew Thomas got hurt and we still didn't figure it out. Nabers has talent. He's a WR1, who is someone you can build around on offense. But for the love of God, get better players. The Commanders figured it out in 1 year with a new quarterback. Look around the league and how many teams have had success and cut ties with quarterbacks. The Cardinals did it after ONE year with Josh Rosen and took Kyler Murray. Meanwhile we're on year 6 of Daniel Jones, offensive line still being trash and the defense not showing up when we need them.
