Turns Out Jameis Winston (3 INTs) Might Not Be The Answer To All Of The Browns Problems

So the Browns went on a 12 play, 70 yard drive in the last 3 minutes of mop up time to give Jameis both a non-embarrassing amount of passing yards AND a touchdown, so I'm a little frustrated that I had to take the (0 TD, 3 INT) part out of my headline, but the fact remains....Jameis Winston is not the answer to this team's problems. Jeff D Lowe and I were right all along. We looked silly last week when Jameis threw for 334 yards and 3 scores as the 1-6 Browns beat the Super Bowl contender Ravens after preaching for 7 weeks that changing out Deshaun wouldn't help one bit, but water came back to it's level this week and proved what we all knew: there's too many issues with this team for a change from a really bad QB to a bad QB to matter.

And I know Jameis looked like a Hall of Famer last week, but the truth is, he's only a Hall of Fame speech giver:

I'll listen to the fact that the vibes are better with Jameis. I'll listen that the team might play harder for him. I'll listen that he's out there trying to LEAD this team, high-fiving the line as they come off the field saying way to finish. But what I won't listen to is that Jameis is the QB of the future. More like wINTston than WINston, if you ask me. I mean, he can be if you want to have viral social clips each week. But if you want to win, our franchise quarterback is currently not on our roster. Paging Quinn Ewers, Cam Ward, Sheduer Sanders, and Jalen Milroe. Ew, I hate all of those options. Thoughts on the double tank for Arch Manning?

Anyways, at 2-7, the season is officially dead. Defense looked lost. Blocked field goal. Offense couldn't move the ball. And Nick Chubb is definitely not Nick Chubb anymore. I can't believe I came into this week thinking that maybe, just maybe, if we could beat the Chargers at home, the playoffs were still in reach. What the fuck was I smoking? Especially when Jim Harbaugh was coming to Ohio....and he brought his secret weapon: JK Dobbins. The Buckeye got his touchdown and threw up the O-H...

….and then he got another just for the memories.

I guess if you're going to get beat and embarrassed at home, at least the Ohio State kid gets to have a day. But then again, it pisses me off to see Harbaugh and JK embrace like they're old friends. I know they're professionals and we're the fanatics and it matters way more to me than the zero it matters to them, but it makes me sick. Especially when Ohio State is all we have in this state to be happy anymore. Huge win yesterday in Happy Valley….and of course, the Browns let us be happy for approximately 15 minutes.

Whatever. This is now the 2nd time this season that I'm saying the Browns are dead to me. Don't let me come back and say any differently the rest of the year. Season over. Lose every game the rest of the way out and improve our draft pick. I have no clue what to do with Deshaun, but it's clear we need a new QB.
