Draymond Green Suggests Nobody Fears The Thunder Because They All Get Along And Do Postgame Interviews Together

The Oklahoma City Thunder are off to a fantastic start this season. They're 4-0, whooped the Nuggets on opening night, own the #1 ranked defense in the NBA, the #3 net rating, and #3 point differential so far. Chet looks like he's legitimately taking a serious leap after he completely outplayed Wemby last night

and as expected they look every bit the legit title contender that they were billed as heading into the season. They have size, versatility, shooting, high end talent, elite young talent, a great coach, tons and tons of assets that allow them to be able to strike whenever the right move presents itself, I feel like it's safe to say there are plenty of reasons to fear the Thunder as an opposing team.

Not according to Draymond Green though. You see, unfortunately for the Thunder their entire roster likes each other. Their chemistry being so good is actually a negative

“The one thing I see about the OKC team that’s alarming to me is their postgame. Seven guys in the interview. There’s a certain seriousness it takes to win in this league. And there’s a certain fear you have to instill in teams in order to win. I just don’t know if they’re instilling that fear in teams with all the bromance and stuff after the game.”

Aside from the comment itself being completely insane, the best part of course is the source from which it's coming. Draymond Green, yes, this Draymond Green, noted great teammate and master of team chemistry

saying something like this is legitimately laugh-out-loud funny. I get it, the Warriors are also off to a great start (4-1) and maybe this is Draymond's attempt to play some sort of mind game because anything other than that makes this pretty embarrassing.

NBA teams don't fear the Thunder because they do postgame interviews together and clearly all get along and have great chemistry? What? I would argue it's that chemistry which plays a big role in what makes them so good! Draymond Green himself admitted how important chemistry is when he came clean that punching Jordan Poole and ruining the Warriors' chemistry buried their season

I'm also pretty sure Draymond was on the 2015 Warriors, so he should know just how beneficial having elite chemistry and a connection between teammates can be.

If we're being honest I had to double and triple-check this wasn't an @NBACentel tweet and was a fake quote. You could make the case that when it comes to contending for an NBA title, aside from having the talent to do it, the chemistry and how that talent fits together is the most important piece of the puzzle. NBA history is loaded with teams that were full of talent but never figured out the chemistry part, and they ultimately underachieved. We've seen less talented teams make deep runs and overachieve in part because of their strong chemistry together.

When you have elite talent and elite chemistry, you end up doing shit like this

I would just like to know what NBA teams/players look at the Thunder and how dominant they've been on both ends of the floor and then say to themselves

"Well who cares about that, they do postgame interviews together so clearly we don't need to fear them"

So, if they were winning and only SGA or JDub did the postgame interview, they'd be showing the type of seriousness you need to win? Does this make sense to anyone?

But hey, if this can be something that helps fuel a potential rivalry between the Thunder and Warriors I'm all for it. The NBA needs more shit like that anyway, and in my opinion, the November 10th meeting between these two teams just got a little more interesting.
