Ohio Tate is A Sociopath
So yesterday was the big Tate vote. Essentially Tate apologized to NY for being an asshole and threw himself at the mercy of the court. And then he spent what seemed like an eternity attacking me saying this entire ordeal was my fault and that I’ve essentially developed an obsession with ruining Tate’s life. Many have called the entire ordeal cringy, weird, awkward etc. I’d probably agree with all most of those adjectives, but that’s neither here nor there.
Instead Tate has finally gotten what apparently he has wanted since he started here. Daddy to acknowledge him. Honestly that rant he did about me was the most unhinged, psycho, non sensical rant I’ve heard at Barstool since at least 2 weeks ago when I was compared to Osama Bin Laden on the Unnamed Show.
Now ordinarily I don’t pay much attention to Tate. Him calling me Yankee Dave doesn’t really move the needle. Him writing 100,000 word dissertations that I’m never gonna read doesn’t move the needle. But one thing that I’ve never really had is a brand new employee just blatantly make stuff up about me. His rant about how I knew every detail of his life and was out to ruin him was so unhinged I had to check all my communications with him to make sure I wasn’t losing my mind. Here are 3 simple texts that basically shows why everybody in the NY hates his guts. Because his public persona is far different than his timid little mouse behind closed doors persona.
(Keep in mind these are almost all the interactions I’ve had with him since he was hired. There is no smoking gun here. This is basically the extent of it)
#1 – When I hired Tate I told him he was a good writer but being a troll wasn’t sustainable. (I think I’ve heard him say no less than 100 times I hired him to be a troll)
#2 – He said he wasn’t married and could move and live anywhere I wanted him to. This was in February. Yes I get that's 8 months ago but yesterday he acted like he was having his roots uprooted that he has laid down for decades with a wife and 4 kids.
#3 – This was the only communication we had about the relocation vote. He never once mentioned any of the shit he mentioned yesterday. He seemed totally fine with it. He acted like he was totally fine with it on camera as well.
So there you have it. That’s pretty much the extent of the private conversations I’ve had with Tate since he's worked here. He’s always been civil when I’ve seen him in person. There is no hidden blowout behind the scenes. In fact he called me a few days before the vote and asked me for help on something with the blog. I helped him and he didn’t mention 1 thing about the vote or his living situation. He’s been on camera multiple times appearing to be okay with the move. I think I event told Dan at one point he seems fine with it. Then yesterday he goes scorched earth on me with blatant lies. Even going as far as to insinuate I forced him to go to NY for the Guardians series and made him miss family events when he asked me to go.
Listen I don’t care when my employees talk shit to me. I never have. But to just blatantly make shit up and then be a cordial little mouse doesn't sit right with me. So I honestly don’t know what Tate’s end game is. If the goal is to get me to hate his guts as much as the NY office does and be out of a job when his contract runs out he’s doing great.
