'This Team Needs To Grow Up' - The Giants Have Truly Hit Rock Bottom By Benching 1st Round Picks, Blaming Each Other And Another Pathetic Loss
We all saw what happened last night on Monday Night Football. Well, even if you didn't see it and watched one Giants game the last 6 years you can probably guess what happened. Fight long enough to be competitive, fuck up in the red zone, make enough plays late to still be in the game and then a devastating turnover to end it all. Yep, let's check the tape.
If that's not enough, we had Deonte Banks get benched. Good. It's the same Deonte Banks who quit during the play, got screamed at and still did this:
Another game where a first round pick looks like shit. I know Banks shouldn't be CB1, but can we at least pretend to give a shit? Instead he's going low on Harris and getting hurdled. He's getting benched and had Dexter Lawrence screaming at him:
And then you see shit like this:
Really? We're supposed to think it's a positive that a quarterback in year SIX is showing emotion? What about not fucking up every single 4th quarter? I'd like that to be the positive. But you know what? This is where it's rock bottom. Because it's impossible to get mad at this team. They are a dumb franchise doing dumb shit and has been that way since February 5, 2012. Whether it's dumb draft picks, dumb play calls, dumb hires, it all comes together. They've made me and I'm sure plenty of Giants fans apathetic towards the franchise. There's no worst part in sports or as a fan than having no feeling. I miss getting pissed off at this team because it actually mattered. Now we just spend our days looking at the tankathon and what 1st round pick we'll probably miss out on because we'll win a game late we shouldn't and end up picking the wrong guy.
I still mostly blame John Mara for all of this. He stopped caring about winning and focused on getting taunting out of the game and other loser shit like that. He's the one who hired Dave Gettleman and Pat Shurmur. He's the one who brought in certain members of the front office that have no business being there (hint: they have a similar name to him). But this has to be the last time we see Daniel Jones as a Giant. I don't care if we play Drew Lock, Tommy DeVito, Dexter Lawrence or Greg Joseph at quarterback. Anyone but Daniel Jones. It's been 6 years, he is who he is and that's not the starting quarterback. Bench Deonte Banks until he actually decides to want to play football. There's still some guys with hope. Dexter Lawrence is a DPOY candidate. The rookie class actually looks decent with Tracy, Phillips and Nabers out there.
Just another pathetic showing. Rock bottom with no sign of getting out of the shitshow we put ourselves in.
