The Official Yankees World Series Hype Playlist
THIS BLOG IS FOR YANKEE FAN EYES AND YANKEE FAN EYES ONLY
We are now mere hours away from the Yankees playing in the World Series. That feels amazing to say. After almost a week off, it's time to lock back in and watch Yankees baseball. If you're like me, you've been nonstop watching Yankee hype videos and getting goosebumps all over your body. And if you're really like me, you've also been listening to a bunch of songs you associate with the Yankees to hype yourself up. So I compiled some songs that I think capture the essence of this Yankees playoff run.
"New York, New York" by Frank Sinatra
Obviously #1 on the list. Nothing better than walking out of Yankee Stadium and hearing this play after a Yankees win. I just wish they stuck with the Liza Minnelli version after losses.
"Empire State Of Mind" and "Run This Town"
Two classics from the 2009 run. Jay-Z and Alicia Keys performing before Game 2 will always be imprinted in my mind.
"Heart Of A Champion" and "My Time"
Two songs that used to play at Yankee Stadium right before the game started and Derek Jeter led them running out onto the field. Two just fantastic songs that give me goosebumps every time and I wish they still played more at Yankee Stadium.
"All The Way Up" and "New York"
These two just have to make the list after the news that Fat Joe will be performing them both at Yankee Stadium before Game 3.
"Mambo" trap remix by TropKillaz
A trap remix to the classic "Mambo Italiano." It's a god damn shame this doesn't play at Yankee Stadium every time Volpe or Rizzo hit a home run. I get goosebumps just thinking about this playing and the lights flashing. The ginnies (I can say it, I'm Italian) at Yankee Stadium would go insane!
"New York, New York - Epic Remix" by Wonder Waves and Marvin McMahon
I found this one by just typing in "New York, New York remix" knowing there had to be some great remix out there and this delivered. Close your eyes and imagine a sick Yankees hype video playing under it and you will cum. I know I did.
"Hero" by Nas and Keri Hilson
This is an extremely deep cut, and I might be the only person in the world who remembers it. But I'm pretty positive MLB Network played this set to a Yankee highlight video after they won the 2009 World Series. And that sticks with me. Also just a downright fantastic song.
"Hello" and "Swag Surfin"
Old Aaron Judge walk up song and current one. Goosebumps at the "I'm the King of New York, Melo" line.
"I Want The Smoke" by Tommy Smokes
I mean this one is self-explanatory.
The rest are all just classic hype songs that have less Yankee ties but are just great to get ready for a game. My one rule for this list is NO KENDRICK. We can't be blasting the king of LA when we're facing the Dodgers. All New Yorkers must be Team Drake this week.
And another great way to get ready for the World Series is BUYING OUR YANKEES MERCH.
