Give Bruce Springsteen's New Documentary 'Road Diary' All of the Awards

What a day we have here today. Friday, but not just any Friday…the release of Bruce Springsteen’s Road Diary Friday, the documentary that gives you a walk through of the 2023 leg of this world tour that he is currently on in totality.

Sitting on my couch last night with a bottle of lotion in one hand and Kleenex in the other bowl of popcorn in my lap at midnight last night was truly a magical viewing experience. If you’ve been to any Springsteen shows over the last 18 months of this tour (or ever for that matter) you’ll really, really appreciate the documentary. You get an inside look at every aspect of how the sausage is made. From the making of the setlist for the tour, pre-tour band rehearsals, sound checks, and then us the fans getting our asses rocked for 3 straight hours. It’s all there.

The setlist for the 2023 leg of this tour was the most static one that he’s done in his entire career and we finally get an answer for why that was in the documentary. Now was it an answer I personally was satisfied with? Not entirely. I don’t think the same story with the setlist had to be told again at a stadium in the same city where he had told it in an arena a few months prior. But at the end of the day he’s the Boss, I’m not, and nobody was forcing me to go to those 13 shows. I enjoyed every minute of those shows so I’m gonna shut my fucking mouth.

Even if you’re not a Bruce fan you should:

  1. Rethink your life choices

  2. Still watch this documentary

You’re getting an inside look at one of the greats perfecting his craft. That’s history right there. Give this thing all the Oscars and Golden Globes or we riot.

That’s all from me. I’m gonna head to the store, restock on lotion, and watch this thing again.

Bonus Ramrod to take you into the weekend.
